It is a small villate in the cove of the same name. In the 14th century it was Bosnian harbor named Soli. Later it was leased by the Republic of Dubrovnik. The rectangular defense tower Nonkovic is toda restaurant and camping.

Once Klek was a part of famous Republic of Dubrovnik. As a her port Klek was an important strategy place because there was a huge buisiness going on in Klek mostly transport of salt.Republic of Dubrovnik built a fort on a hill to protect the port from Turkey.To fort given name is „Smrden-Grad“ (Smelly city) because of the spreding smell of dead corpse died during the action. Some time after that close to the fort it was built a Church of Holy Marry and beyond the churc there is a necropolis of standing thomb-stones, and all of that makes this place more interested.
Nowtoday Klek is a part of Neretva valley and belongs to South Dalmatia whose main town is famous Dubrovnik.(67km) Intersting places for visitors are for sure: the wall in Ston,the second longest in the world (23km),Medjugorje for tourists who want to undertake a religious pilgrimage to.(50km)Like an visits to the excavations of the ancient Narona in Vid (27km) and Ornithological Museum in Metkovic which is by the number of stuffed birds the second in a Europe.
